LOVE MISCHIEF

One of Northern California's freshest new Jambands, Love Mischief is a group of musicians with a united purpose: To pursue a sonic adventure through many musical landscapes in order to open hearts and minds. Founded by Brian Curtin in 2013, Love Mischief's line up consists of Curtin on Guitar and Vocals, Dom Salazar-Turner on Bass, and Gabe Carpenter on Drums and Vocals. The trio format has helped them refine their sound to a clean, tight presentation of the songs, while allowing lots of space for exploratory improvising.

Love Mischief has shared the stage with many amazing musical acts over the years, including: The Mike Dillon Band, Skerik's Bandalabra, Jerry's Middle Finger, and The Higgs. Their genre bending performances include forays into many distinct sounds; Love Mischief seamlessly weaves Funk, Psychedelic Rock, Jazz Fusion, and even Progressive Metal, with free-wheeling Jamband improvisation as the common thread. Love Mischief is excited to explore the world of Jamband music to it's outer edges and beyond!

Brian Curtin

Guitar/Vox

Brian is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston and holds a degree in Professional Music and Music Business/Management. From an early age, Brian dreamed of becoming a musician and playing on stage. He founded Love Mischief before entering Berklee as a way to bridge the gap between his love of the metal music of his youth with the Jam Band aesthetic.

Brian grew up listening to heavier bands like Tool but in his early twenties he discovered the music of the Grateful Dead and was never the same. He followed Furthur, featuring Bob Weir and Phil Lesh, for 4 years, seeing shows all over the country. Love Mischief became a way for him to express the transcendent feelings he found with the Dead through his own unique lens. He currently lives in Sacramento, where he teaches private guitar lessons online.

DOM SALAZAR-TURNER

Bass

Dom began his musical journey at the age of 14. His first instrument was piano, but he quickly gravitated to the bass guitar. His tastes vary widely, but he has mainly found himself playing Jazz, Rock, Funk and Video Game Music. Some of his favorite musicians include Jaco Pastorius, Chick Corea, 70's Genesis, The Beatles, and Video Game Composer Nobuo Uematsu.

Dom received a Degree in Music Composition from American River College where he studied under Jazz Pianist Dr. Joe Gilman. He spent time as a Music Theory tutor for ARC's Music Department before becoming a Music Teacher and Band Director for the San Juan Unified School District. He has played all over the Sacramento area in many contexts and is currently teaching private lessons.

GABE CARPENTER
